Hello, and thanks for visiting Wikiloc!

The goal of Wikiloc is to help you share and discover GPS tracks and waypoints from around the World in an easy way

Jordi L. Ramot, founder

Jordi RamotI'm a Software Engineer specialized in the geospatial interoperability field. I graduated with a MS in Computer Science from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

I started my professional career back in 1995 leading a GIS department in a regional government agency, later on I joined a private company specialized in LBS and Internet Mapping, moved to Vancouver (BC,Canada) in 2001 to collaborate with a leading company in GML (Geography Markup Language), returned to Spain and I'm currently at iogeo.com, where we make geospatial information systems work together following OpenGeospatial standards.

On the geek side, I like statically-typed languages like Java, dynamic languages like Python and Unix-like operating systems

In 2006 I started to work on Wikiloc in my spare time and nowadays we're a growing community of thousands of outdoor enthusiasts sharing our best outdoor routes from anywhere around this beatiful planet.

When not in the office I like to be in the mountains hiking, back-country skiing or mountain biking

I hope you find wikiloc useful and that it helps you get the most of your GPS. You can help me to improve the service by  what you think of the app

Thanks and happy trails!
--Jordi
