This 4 mile moderate loop run through the Florentine hills is a great morning jog. I recommend running it clockwise, from the river up a decent hill to and around San Miniato, through tuscan pines, and past old churches, vineyards, and mansions, with amazing views of Florence below and a jog down the beautiful walled and curving street of Via di San Leonardo before making your way back into the city. I would give yourself 1.5 to 2 hours.
Waypoint

Start at dawn, stretching among the sculptures.

Waypoint

The streets are a little confusingly similar here.

Waypoint

Head under the arch and begin the hardest hill of the run. You can choose the street or stairs.

Waypoint

If on the street, cross Viale Galileo, and make the next left toward San Miniato.

Waypoint

If taking the stairs, keep going straight. Run around, not up to, the fortress-esque church

Waypoint

Choose the street or be adventurous and run through the tuscan pines!

Waypoint

View Florence in her early morning glory below.

Waypoint

This is a more main street. For a longer run, turn left and make a loop over to Via di San Leonardo

Waypoint

Let the downhill begin!

Waypoint

Via di San Leonardo is one of the most beautiful streets in Florence - walled mansions, churches, and vineyards.

Waypoint

Head straight back into the formal city.

Waypoint

Choose your ending.
