Description de l'itinéraire
The ingo will be updated soon!
Dsegh - Karinj (Դսեղից Քարինջ) is one of the most stunning hiking routes in Lori Province, Armenia.
It’s all about the soul of Armenia — Lori’s enchanting landscapes, vibrant villages, and dreamlike atmosphere. This trail is the essence of pure Lori.
---
We began our hike from the center of Dsegh village. Dsegh (Դսեղ) is a well-known tourist destination in Armenia, as it’s the birthplace of the great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan (Հովհաննես Թումանյան). His house-museum, located near the starting point, is also worth a visit.
---
Northern Armenia is known for its colorful villages, warm-hearted locals, mild climate, and indescribably beautiful nature.
---
The trail begins through forested paths, followed by a short stretch along a road that leads to Karindj (Քարինջ) village.
You’ll walk right through the village before continuing alongside the majestic Dsegh Gorge, then re-enter the forest.
--
While the trail is waymarked, having a GPS device is strongly recommended, as many of the markers have faded over time.

𝐽𝑢𝑙𝑦, 𝐴𝑢𝑔𝑢𝑠𝑡: Summer can be quite hot, especially in the lower parts. Overall, the Lori region tends to be too warm for ideal summer hiking, particularly on trails with little shade.
▶ Not Recommended
𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ: This month is a continuation of winter—a transitional period with remnants of melting snow.
𝑊𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑀𝑜𝑛𝑡ℎ𝑠:
During winter, temperatures often drop, and snow can cover large parts of the trail, especially the higher ones.
Snow conditions vary depending on the season, and sometimes the trails are clear of snow. This period is only suitable for those specifically looking for a snow hike.
