Surprisingly wonderful walk through the dune area just north of Ijmuiden and Beverwijk. All peace and quiet in this often overlooked part of the natural reserve area Noord Hollands Duinreservaat.
Admittedly, you do see the Tata steel production area occasionally, but only at the beginning and end, and in fact you just get some glimpses.
Worth returning to as there are plenty of trails to discover and plenty of beautiful views.

The first part is mainly through woodlands with smaller and wider tracks, in summer ideal because of the shade. The second part is through the more open dune areas with extensive views all around you.

The North Holland Dune Reserve (NHD) is one of the largest natural areas of the Netherlands, stretching from Wijk aan Zee to the dunes near Schoorl, 20 kilometers long and 2.5 kms wide, with an area of 5300 hectare.
