In 2019 the trails around Maison de la foret are not worth to try. Like elsewhere in Lebanon, construction is planned or already taking place. The trail is used to put water pipes. In fact, sixty percent of the trail is a 60 cm deep trench and you have to climb over the rubble for 2,5 hours as I did today.

Indeed, currently you cannot walk on the trails around maison de la foret for the reason outlined above. Lebanon has no clue how to preserve its beauty and allows anyone with money to destroy the landscape, one of the many reasons there is so much protest going on.
