Description de l'itinéraire
Sevan Dream Trail is a scenic hike which starts from Tsamakaberd ( Ցամաքաբերդ ) village and heads to Sevanavank monastery ( Սևանավանք ) through the hills.
▶ Recommended for: Hikers who like scenic easy - moderate hikes with rocks and views. Also for those who like visiting cultural sights during the hike.
◤ABOUT THIS TRAIL◥
Սևանի երազանքի արահետ
--- The hike starts from Sevan Botanical garden ( Սևանի բուսաբանական այգի ), then it heads to the left, where you take the way straight up, then to the right till Tevrakar summit (very close to it). You will see a cross on the top of the vista point.
---After getting there you take the left direction with ups and downs through the rocks.
When you get to the Intersection Point (Mentioned in the waypoints as a "Go down or continue"), you either take the right direction and head to Sevanavank monastery or take to the left for having closer view of the monastery (but you have the same view of the monastery even before getting there).
To be honest I did not get why we need to go to the left as there was nothing special to see, and that detour part cuts abruptly, in the middle of nowhere.
Anyway, I'd suggest skipping that detour and heading to the right - down to the monastery.
--- When you appear in asphalt, close to the railway, there is an underground pedestrian passage (mentioned in the waypoints as an "underground passage") so do not pass the highway (as we did first time).
---After the passage you head to the monastery by the main asphalt road, as the cars get there. It will take less than 10 minutes.
▶ WHEN TO GO?
Gegharkunik region is one of the severe regions in Armenia, as it's quite high and the climate is rough most of the period of the year.
▻Doable:
The hike can be considered as an "all-season" one, if you enjoy cold snowy hikes. Anyway the rocky parts can make it more challenging to pass in a snowy period.
Snow falls down generally from late November and does not melt till May (depends on season).
▻Recommended:
It's better to hike here in a green season: From Mid May till mid July.
▻Not Recommended:
I think the hike is not attractive during late summer and fall, as the greenery gets dried and the sights are not so attractive. But this is more about preferences. Some may enjoy the golden landscape as well.
▶ Recommended for: Hikers who like scenic easy - moderate hikes with rocks and views. Also for those who like visiting cultural sights during the hike.

Great and beautiful hike. It was pretty easy, but it is not the easiest hike I’ve had. I guess It’s available for families, our daughter (5 years) has done it. I suggest taking warm clothes because it maybe very windy and can’t recommend to take the hike in a rain.
Also we went a little higher, in the end of elevation we went forward during the road instead of turning right to the cross. I can recommend this way if you aren’t so tired.

Очень интересный маршрут, но местами без карты было непонятно куда идти. Точнее направление то понятно, а где тропа - нет. Но такие места были редко и короткие. В начале был изнурительный подъем, а после первого км стало гораздо проще жить)) Спасибо!

Thank you, Shushan, for this track! The track is clear and beautiful. The climb at the beginning is not the easiest, but it’s not a big problem. On the top, there is a great view. :)
