With its symmetrical volcanic cone, Snæfellsjökull is arguably the most beautiful phenomenon visible from Reykjavik, 60 nautical miles across the bay. Still active, it is covered by an icecap - and was cast by Jules Verne as the starting point of his "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". For pictures from this ski trip click the title. Note that the swings on the downward leg are giant slalom turns - you don't need to faithfully copy them! The blood on my face in some of the pictures must be blamed on snowmobiles - they had rutted the snow rather severely so I took a really bad tumble. No broken bones though.

Like many of my tracks, this one exceeds the maximum number of track points supported by most GPS units (Garmin ones accept 500 per track). In this case it's probably simplest to split it into two 500-point segments - I wouldn't be surprised if chopping it at the peak does the trick! In MapSource there's a special "scissors" tool for achieving this.
